Engineers continue to assess the damage on WDAY970AM transmission towers after storms late last night. But now listeners have an easy way to listen.
The station is streaming its broadcast online. Just click on the link from this blog or from the “Listen live” icon on WDAY.com. The broadcasts will include a mix of “Best of” programming along with live broadcasts.
WDAY-TV is temporarily back on the air. While the station continues to run on generator power, Operations Manager Susan Eider says they are doing their best to keep equipment cool. The station went on generator power last night around 9:30, but the generator was not able to keep all of the necessary equipment cool, so the station was forced to shut down earlier today.
By early this afternoon, Eider says they slowly began powering back up. She says they will broadcast their news tonight at 5, 6 and 10. She says if Xcel Energy has not restored power by midnight, WDAY might sign off at midnight.
